Under Council’s ‘Perfect Match’ program, which is aimed at deterring and covering unwanted graffiti, local young artists transform Marrickville resident Magda’s front wall, incorporating Greek mythological figures.
The young people working on the mural were being mentored by artists under the council’s ‘Live to Create’ program, a series of workshops and other activities held to inspire young people to experience new artistic practices, and to highlight the message that there are alternative means of expression that are fun and rewarding – and that potentially negative effects can flow from tagging.
